Crude Oil Prices April 22, 2025: Brent & WTI Rates
Crude oil prices rose more than $1 per barrel on April 22, 2025, as new US sanctions against Iran and rising equity markets helped spark a recovery rally from the prior session’s steep selloff.
Brent crude oil price, on April 22, closed at roughly $67.44 per barrel compared with $66.26 recorded on April 21. At the same time, WTI crude oil price closed at approximately $64.24 per barrel compared with $64.01 recorded on April 21.
According to the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), the basket price of thirteen crude oil blends stood at $69.94 a barrel on April 22, compared with $69.65 a barrel on April 21.
The OPEC Reference Basket of Crudes (ORB) consists of the following: Saharan Blend (Algeria), Djeno (Congo), Zafiro (Equatorial Guinea), Rabi Light (Gabon), Iran Heavy (Iran), Basrah Medium (Iraq), Kuwait Export (Kuwait), Es Sider (Libya), Bonny Light (Nigeria), Arab Light (Saudi Arabia), Murban (UAE) and Merey (Venezuela).
